Special Report On Health Care Reform
PBS Special with health stories from the Heartland

PBS aired a 90-minute special report, Health Care Reform, on September 24th. This collaboration between "NOW on PBS," "Tavis Smiley," and "Nightly Business Report" puts a human face on some of the key issues being debated in federal health reform.

The report provides real examples of some of the concepts health reform measures are intended to address. For example:

  • getting health care for a child with a pre-existing condition in Oklahoma;
  • the costs of treating the uninsured and underinsured; and
  • encouraging innovations to keep Americans healthy.
