Capturing Federal Dollars For Missouri
MFH program aids nonprofits in applying for federal grants
The health care reform law passed earlier this year includes a number of new grant opportunities. Missouri Capture (or MoCap) is a new project of the Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) to help nonprofits, local health departments, and other health agencies apply for these funds.
Many of the federal grants related to health care reform will support wellness and prevention efforts. Some will improve access to health care services through investments in infrastructure and workforce training. Federal grants are highly competitive and the application process can be confusing and difficult.
MFH developed MoCap to give organizations a better chance of finding and applying for appropriate funding. MoCap will help Missouri nonprofits by:
- Sharing funding opportunities;
- Providing consultation;
- Making technical assistance available; and
- Offering tools to make applying for grants easier.
